‘Zoek’ seems to be in D major, confirmed after a quite long introduction on A7, being the dominant of D. But right then things go wrong with the result that the whole piece is a search for the ‘lost’ D major. 
A dutchman says ‘Zoek’ to his dog when he wants the dog to retrieve something.
