Piece for solo tenor recorder, written for Walter van Hauwe and performed here by Julia Whybrow. The piece is a lament inspired by the Scottish piobaireachd - the traditional music of the Highland bagpipe.

Guus Janssen. Ballroom Rithmix for electric organ and orchestra. World premiere.

Ballroom Rithmix is composed with financial support of the Fonds Podiumkunsten FPK on request of NTR Radio for the Radio Kamer Filharmonie. It was premiered on March 8, 2013 in Vredenburg Leidsche Rijn, Utrecht within the frame of the ‘Vrijdag van Vredenburg’ and also on March 9, 2013 in the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ, Amsterdam within the frame of ‘NTR maakt hoorbaar’.

The performances were conducted by Jonathan Stockhammer with the composer at the electric organ.

Ballroom Rithmix is dedicated to Robert Nasveld who was a very enthusiastic and original programmer of many concertseries for the Dutch radio from 1991 until 2013.
